Matt Davis
was a member of Filene’s inaugural 30 Under 30 group, is author of “The Credit Union Warrior” blog, and has been at the center of credit union innovation since 2004. His projects have earned international recognition, including features in Fast Company, Yahoo! Finance, Bankrate.com, and credit union trade press. In February 2009, Matt was named one of the Triad (N.C.) Business Journal’s 40 Business Leaders Under 40. Matt holds a marketing degree from the College of William & Mary, completed Basic Cadet Training at the United States Air Force Academy, and earned his Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation from the National Credit Union Foundation in 2009.
Brent Dixon is an advisor for Filene Research Institute specializing in young adult issues. He is a leader in young adult outreach, creative development, and user experience, with work in people-focused product development that gives him and the credit union system a unique perspective. Brent founded The Haberdashery, a creative studio based in Brooklyn, New York, and he also spent five years as creative director at Trabian, an Indianapolis interactive agency specializing in credit union website development. He was co-founder Open Source CU, the blog many call the birthplace of credit unions’ social media movement. Brent has been cited in and written for numerous industry publications and is a contributing author to “The Age of Conversation 2.” He has worked with the NCUF, CUES, and dozens of credit unions. Brent holds a degree in journalism and public relations from Texas A&M University.
Ron Galloway
directed the noted documentary film "Why Wal-Mart Works & Why That Makes Some People Crazy," a free-market look at Wal-Mart that premiered inside the U.S. Capitol Building. His frequent public engagements include a variety of business topics including innovations in business technology. Ron, a graduate of Georgia Tech, writes on tech and business for The Huffington Post and was an investment analyst for nearly twenty years. He has been featured on CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, ABC’s World News Tonight, and The Daily Show. He also has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, New Yorker magazine, and China Daily.
James Robert Lay founded PTP NEW MEDIA during his sophomore year at San Jacinto College in February 2002 to help pay for school. Since then PTP NEW MEDIA has completed hundreds of web, viral and social marketing campaigns and projects, focused in the past six years on helping credit unions build relationships with members online. He also helped start CU Grow, a leading credit union blog that gives back to the movement with a focus on innovation, communication and collaboration. James Robert completed his MBA in 2006 at the University of Houston – Clear Lake and has enjoyed speaking at many different credit union conferences and events. He also is on the faculty at San Jacinto College where he teaches professional selling with a focus on relationships.
Kym Moore is education specialist and student program administrator at High Plains FCU in Clovis, NM. Her dedication was instrumental in adding financial education to the Clovis High School Freshman Academy curricula and in opening New Mexico's first student-run credit union. Raised in Clovis, Kym believes everything good in her life has come from the strong foundation of her parents, having learned valuable financial and life lessons through observation and in the advice of her mother, who took over both parental roles when Kym’s father passed suddenly at the young age of 37. Kym has been honored numerous times with the Spirit of High Plains Award for notable achievement in credit union financial education. She is a mentor to all students, an ambassador of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and BLET Auxiliary for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, a sponsor for We Are Resistant—a youth group against smoking, drugs and drinking—and serves on her home county's improvement committee known as Linking Arms, Linking Lives.
Claudine Oriani polished her training, sales/service, and program management skills within the credit union movement, beginning in 1993 as a software trainer and vendor, then as the director of training and development for a mid-sized credit union. After a brief stint for CUNA Mutual, she returned to the credit union as business development officer and later director of community education. Claudine is now chief creative officer of As If Productions, with comprehensive and entertaining presentations on branding, business and community development, coaching, engagement and acculturation, financial literacy, strategic planning, and team building. Her primary objective is to provide programs that are Creative and concise, Learner-focused, Engaging, Actionable, and Relevant. A graduate of the Professional Management Institute at Oregon State University, she previously lived lived in Montreal, Los Angeles, and Seattle. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and loves to travel.
Felicia Pope is director of marketing and business development for ArrowPointe FCU in South Carolina. A graduate of Winthrop University, Felicia began her marketing career in 2000 in commercial and residential real estate. She discovered credit union marketing in 2007 and has since been wholeheartedly committed to the credit union movement. In addition to marketing for five branches within three counties, Felicia is a member of the American Marketing Association and supports event planning for the Catawba (SC) Chapter of Credit Unions. When not working, Felicia enjoys spoiling friends’ children before sending them back, then on her own time likes to relax to the sound of flowing water while writing and reading.
